In Marilyn Frye’s “Oppression” the main point is talking about the word oppression and who is oppressed to whom (women to men or men to women). I can’t really say I like this statement or say I dislike it but the statement stuck out to me. The statement was “The experience of oppressed people is that the living of one’s life is confined and shaped by forces and barriers, which are not accidental or occasional and hence avoidable…..” by saying this I feel like Frye gave a great definition for the would oppression. One of the things I really didn’t like is when Frye was talking about the women on page 85 in the middle of the page. I felt like he was putting women down and calling them out of their names.
