Virtual Gender-Judy Wajcman

This article has been one of the more relatable articles I have read thus far. Being that all of us in this class are frequently using the internet and we see how people socialize in cyberspace. Many people feel more comfortable using an alternate identity other than their own. Like they can be who ever they want to be, talk however they want to, and even use a picture that displays how they would like to look. I don’t agree with the idea of having a virtual identity or being someone who you clearly aren’t but I can see how it would be easier for someone to portray the life they secretly desire to live but their personal situation hinders them from living in reality. I think living a complex cyber life can make you forget who you really are and can cause more damage than good.
