Who would’ve thought cosmetic surgery would go this far? How is it that a woman considers her vagina “not good enough?” Before reading this article I was very confused and baffled that a woman would change the looks of her labia because there was some kind of flaw with it. Like, who even sees it? I mean usually during sexual intercourse the lights are off! Once I read the article though, I started to realize that labiaplasty should not be treated any different than the other dozens of cosmetic surgical procedures.
The article puts things into a different perspective: if a woman is insecure about something, she should be able to change it. Right? There are tummy tucks, breast implants, rhinoplasty, and anything else really. A woman chooses to undergo the procedure to make her self-esteem stronger. Therefore, if a woman is completely insecure with the physical appearance of her vagina, she should be able to change it. Although people often say, “beauty is natural,” this idea is not portrayed in society. Women wear makeup, high heels, push up bras, a skimpy dress… all to exemplify beauty. If we really believed in natural beauty, we’d be naked with frizzy hair.
