Pop Culture Gone Wild by Jessica Valenti

It’s crazy how pop culture is turning more into porn everyday. In Jessica Valenti story “Pop Culture” she talks about how young ladies are doing any and everything just for someone to like or love them. Also she talks about how girls don’t have to be like the females on GGW (Girls Gone Wild) videos just so a boy would show them attention or like them. In this story there is a section that talks about being a virgin. Jessica is saying that some girls are put in a situation that makes them think that they should have sex and not keep their virginity. Another section is about being a lesbian, in this section she is talking about how girls think they’re a lesbian but they don’t want to tell anyone because they think there peers will make fun of them and tease them as well.

I don’t really know how i feel about this story, some parts in this story are fine but somethings I really didn’t like and it really made me mad. One thing that Jessica said, ” Women just want to know what they have to do to get these guys to fall in love with them”. The reason why I say this is because its crazy how some females will act and do stuff just for boys ( and I say this because when they act like that they are not men)  to like them or show them attention. Another thing I really didn’t like was when she was talking about how the different races acting and she said that black women are bitchy. I strongly disagree with that statement, once again like I said in my paper not all black women are ghetto or bitchy I’m tired of people always thinking that about black women.  However, in spite of all the stuff i disagree with the story was fine and very interesting to read.
