This week in class we were talking about women and the jobs they are supposed to do in the house. Like clean the dishes, laundry, make sure the house is clean, watch after the children and make sure that there is food on the table. I think that men should help out as much as they can even if their women are at home full time or working. Its not fair for one person to have the jobs of everything and I think that women need to split their jobs with the family, children included. I think your marriage would get along much better and easier if you could talk to your husband and share the duties of the household instead of doing the same thing over and over. Now if my husband/boyfriend asked me to mow the yard I would, but I do not think he would ever ask me to because he feels like that is something he should do for the both of you because thats how he was raised.

I'm a senior at ETSU and I plan on graduating in May of 2013. I want to be a Child Life Specialist and work in the Children's Hospital in Knoxville. I have a year old boxer named Axel and he is like my child. I am very outgoing and love going home every weekend to be with my family.

  1. part of the fun of life, perhaps, is negotiating new roles and learning new skills. i don’t mow because i have allergies and asthma, lucky me, but i do most of the outside work. we have a woman who mows for us regularly. and i wanted to learn to change the oil in my car so i knew how to do it, but it made my mom mad. i had her dad, my grandfather, show me how to do it. she said, “why do you want to know how to do that, when you can just pay somebody to do it for you?” i just like being self-reliant as a person and feel it’s a good goal for all people, no matter their gender. the last time we had a flat, i figured out how to remove hubcap because my DH couldn’t problem-solve it. and we took turns removing the lug nuts with the tire iron. he has a bad back. teamwork!
