Half The Sky

Watching the movie Half The Sky truly opened my eyes to the extreme abuses and mistreatment of women around the world. It broke my heart to see that their could ever be a society in which rape was not only habitual offense, but one that is accepted, overlooked, and barely even addressed. Young innocent girls, as young as three years old, are having their purity robbed from them before their even able to understand the concept of sex. And the saddest part is the rapist is the one who is easily forgiven and accepted back into society, while the young girl is scorned, rejected, and branded a usless whore for the rest of their lives. Their is no forgiveness for these children and the authorities are doing absolutly nothing to put a stop to these tragedies. I thank God for the few safe havens provided for these girls in the form of shelter, consuling, and medical treatment, but its far from a solution. These childrens lives are being snatched away from them by selfish disrespectuful men who are suffering no reprecussions. Its tragic…truly tragic
