As women we are pressured every day to look a certain way. Images of beautiful skinny women from the Internet, in movies, in online videos, in magazines, in books, etc. all give this idea of the ideal body on a woman. The pictures of skinny models with large breasts and big buttocks that men drool over usually can drive a woman into thinking that her body isn’t good enough and that she needs to modify herself to look like this model to be considered attractive or sexy. These pictures can change the perception that women have about themselves, and could even drive them to extreme measures to obtain this ideal body image. These measures include Anorexia, Bulimia, taking laxatives and other drugs to achieve this perfect ideal body. The number of these diseases and problems keep increasing due to more media exposure. When in reality, it is most likely unattainable and these women often do more bad than good to themselves. In my opinion, it’s okay to look how you are. It doesn’t matter if you’re short, tall, curvy, slender, or anywhere in between, not everyone looks the same for a reason. Individuality is more important and more beautiful than looking like a Barbie doll.
