“The Invisible War”

Did you know that “In 2010, 108,121 veterans screened positive for military sexual trauma and The Department of Defense processed reports of 3,198 new assaults but estimated the actual number of assaults to be closer to 19,000. However, these reports only resulted in convictions against 244 perpetrators.” Yeah neither did I. Today I watched half of the film and I was in complete shock. I have heard about a few cases of sexual assault in the military, but I didn’t know it was happening to thousands of women and men as well. It is so unfair to see women and men who are fighting for our country go through something so terrible. In the film, you see 7 or more women say they have sexually abused while serving and couldn’t get justice for going through that. Some were to scared to report it to the higher rank or supervisor, because they knew that could cost them their rank or life. So basically if you were put in that situation you had to forget about it and that is absolutely terrible. No one on this planet should be sexually assaulted and the perpetrator set free. All military officials and even police should be trying to find a way to prevent this from happening and if it does something actually happens about it. Justice needs to be served to all the women and men.
