The “Invisible War” Fought by Female Military Personnel

“The Invisible War” fascinated me, frightened me, and disgusted me – all at the same time. It is hard to believe that something as horrendous as violent rapes and prevalent cover-ups have a place in our military but it is a harsh reality for many women who have served this country. Going into the military is something I have considered doing, a time or two. For a while, I wanted to join the Air Force like my grandfather. Something always held me back though, and watching this video makes me feel better about that choice. That’s not to say that everyone will have an experience similar to those expressed in the movie but it does give one pause. I think it’s about time that this country cleaned up house and got rid of some of these perpetrators, sending a message, loud and clear, that this will no longer be tolerated. It’s the only way we can bring an end to these cases.
