In class we watched a very powerful documentary called “Invisible War”. This film was about women and men who have been sexually abused or raped by fellow service men. It was very heartbreaking and disappointing to hear each victim give their accounts of how they were abused. Being in the service is a predominately male things, so I can say in the past my mind has thought of a situation like this being possible a time or two but I never thought it was happening as often as it was. It was very sad to see that many of theses women were being raped by their commanders or captains to where they felt they had no one to report the incident to. It was also saddening to see how the military handles these rapes and basically tosses the rape cases to the side and just bruch them away. I appreciate the service of servicemen and women but I don’t appreciate the sexual abuse that goes on. It is unacceptable.
